[Ruby's only just changed back from being the Hound but that didn't mean there wasn't important business to take care of.

Namely getting a hold of everyone from home.]

Hey Fox. Are you busy? We have to talk about some things.

Home things.

[Home things sounds like it doesn't mean anything good about home. Which is not as surprising as it should be.]

I'm free. Is this a scroll-approved talk or an in-person talk?

It-

You know at this point I don't think it really matters, but I wouldn't mind seeing you in person.

Is there a place you'd be okay with meeting at?

I'm cool with anywhere. Not like I'm gonna see anything that upsets me.

[Fox says it lightly. A little teasing.] If you feel more comfortable at your place I can meet you there.

Wow. Okay. If you're going to be a wise guy about it. Can't promise you wont hear anything.

[She gives a little laugh though. She can take some teasing.]

My place might be best if that's the case. I'll have some snacks and stuff ready. See you in a few?

[Fox chuckles back because at least all of that tension is lifted for a little bit.]

Got it. I'll meet you there.

[Not like it would take long. They move faster when they aren't being completely shut down. Which Fox so very much hated.]

[If there's one thing they needed it was a little less tension around here.

Once she catches sight of Fox she'll wave out of habit and then feel a little awkward and shout out.]

Hey, you made it! How you feeling about all this sand?

[Fox turns toward her voice when he hears her.]

Yeah, not like it's hard now. Sand like this is like traveling around in Vacuo. It's even getting inside of everything. Almost nostalgic. You okay?

I guess that's a good point. I've never been to Vacuo but it's kind of on my list of places to go to at some point.

[The Sword of Destruction was there which meant Salem would probably have her eyes on that at some point.

Speaking of which.]

Kind of? Sort of? Not really. There's some trouble from home that's shown up here. I thought it was about time to fill you in.

Would have done so sooner but I guess I was kind of hoping it wouldn't be important here. You know?

[His eyebrows go up just a bit. So it was definitely a Not Good thing. He moves forward, putting his hand on her shoulder. Or where he thinks her shoulder is.]

Do we need more privacy?

[He knows Ruby has a lot of people here who she probably looks to first for talking to about serious things, but if it's better for her to not have to speak at all, they can do that, too.]

[She guides his hand along a little to just fully get on her shoulder and gives it a bit of a squeeze before she lowers it.]

No- We should be good here. Pretty much everyone is in the know.

[She folds her arms and thinks briefly on how to say this.]

So... I don't really know where to start here so I'm just going to kind of wing it. But do you remember the people from the fall of Beacon? The ones who organized the attack? Worked with the white fang and brought Grimm into the school?

They... They have a leader. She doesn't just control them- She can control Grimm themselves.

And she's here.

[Fox listens, but it's definitely a lot to think through. Someone who can control Grimm is the one in charge of the group doing the most to tear down their kingdoms back home and she's here.]

And what can we do about that? If she's here, what can we do to protect everyone else?

[That is the million dollar question here. Ruby gives a little pause to think about that. She hadn't quite expected Fox to get right to the point about that but she definitely appreciates the way he does.]

I'm not exactly sure. ...Back at home, she couldn't be killed. But here that doesn't seem to be the case. Not that death is very permanent here anyways.

We might just have to react if she gets up to something again. Or keep a tabs on her house.

It's not like there are laws or rules we can stop her from breaking here.

[After months of being in Deerington, Fox has an easier time believe so much. The fact that it's actually something from home just means he might be able to do something about it when they get back there.]

So...if she can be affected here, maybe we have to use that. Like when we get out of here, we find a way to leave her behind.

[Ruby blinks and can't help but laugh.]

Wow. You know what? I can't believe I didn't think of that sooner- That's not exactly a bad idea.

...You know she might actually like that over going home anyways.

I don't know it's hard to say really.

If she wants this place, she can have it. [Fox can't think of anyone else who really does.]

So...she's the person that Em worked for? The one behind Cinder.

[He hasn't actually talked to Emerald since he first arrived, but he remembers how she was about talking about it.]

Yeah- I don't wish her on anyone here. But jeez she's more than welcome to stick around.

She is. Em was mainly in it for Cinder, not a huge fan of Salem. I can sort of imagine why.

She's been at it for a very long time too. Her and Oz are kind of both cursed to keep at what they've been doing.

You have been invited for Ruby Rose's birthday party!

The party will be held at the house Ruby lives in over in the Gaze district. [ There's an address included, or just general directions, along with the time the party starts. ] Feel free to dress up or not - you know Ruby won't mind either way. You're also free to bring a present if you want to. If you want to bring one, but you're having trouble thinking of what to get her, you can ask me, I guess.

.. Or Oscar. Actually, ask Oscar.

[ Please don't make her talk to people. ]

Let's do our best to make it fun for Ruby. She's had a really crappy time around this time last year, and I know she would love to be surrounded by her friends.
